Lift open the top of this stylishly designed The Bronzed The Beautiful Palette French Riviera Edition by Too Faced and for a moment you might feel like you’re holding a box of chocolates. One bronzers actually contains cacao. It’s like indulging without piling on the pounds. Read further to find out why this palette is now part of my every day makeup routine.
I was given this lovely The Bronzed The Beautiful Palette during my internship at BRAVA Magazine in the USA. Like many other magazines we would receive a ton of makeup from brands to feature in upcoming issues. Once the issue was printed the editors that worked on an article about some of these products were aloud to take a few home. You can check out the article I wrote for BRAVA Magazine HERE.
The Bronzed The Beautiful Palette French Riviera Edition contains three of Too Faced’s signature bronzers: Chocolate Soleil (which contains real cacao!), Sun Bunny and Snow Bunny. As a bonus you get a primer (that I won’t be reviewing, as I have used it too little to make a valid statement) and Powdered Sun, a highlighter. Because of the large variety in colors this palette can be used all year round. Larger versions of all three bronzers can be bought individually. Too Faced also included three instruction cards that offer how-to’s on looks ranging from classically golden to all-out glam with this palette.
From left to right, against the clock: Powdered Sun, Snow Bunny, Sun Bunny and Chocolate Soleil. As you can see the pigmentation is great, even that of the matte bronzer Chocolate Soleil. I love to use Chocolate Soleil to contour and add the light rose colored side of Snow Bunny as a subtile highlighter. Powdered Sun is a little too gold for my fair skin, but would look lovely on olive colored girls. When I want to contour my cheekbones a bit heavier or long for that ‘sun kissed’ look I use Sun Bunny.
Here I heavily applied Chocolate Soleil to test out how buidable this matte bronzer is. As you can see it’s possible to shape your cheekbones like Kim Kardashian West with this delicious smelling bronzer! Powdered Sun leaves a pretty golden glow. I find it a little too golden for my fair skin. The gold looks lovely however when I’m a little tanner.
Packaging – Lovely! The pink and brown stripes totally drew me in. Packaging sells.
Amount of product – Amazing. The top picture of this post is actually taken after using the palette for more then a MONTH.
Texture – All of the bronzers are quite ‘creamy’. The only downside to this palette for me are the shimmers in Powdered Sun; they’re a little too big for my taste.
Application – Very smooth.
Lasts – Pretty much all day, although this depends on the foundation you were underneath and if you rub your face like I do.
Other colors available? – Chocolate Soleil comes in a lighter shade: Milk Chocolate Soleil.
Price vs Product – I’d say that $38 (± €29,46) for this whole palette is quite a good prize considering that Too Faced is a high-end makeup brand.
!! For all my American readers: this palette is on sale right now, retailing for $34,20 instead of $38. Not a bad deal for three bronzers, a highlighter and a primer.
