Latest Obsession: Harry Potter + New Cover Art

Three books of plusminus 400 pages in less then two weeks should be a new record for me. I don’t even think I read the Hunger Games that fast. It’s probably safe to say that I’m obsessed with Harry Potter. And before you say that I’m quite late to jump on the HP bandwagon: new – and gorgeous, if I may say so – covers only came out this month.

While on holiday in Dubai I walked into the biggest book store I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Determined to buy a new book to read on the plane I set out to find the Games of Thrones series – of which I also ended up buying the first book – but my eye got drawn to a little display right next to the check-out; there they stood all seven of the Harry Potter books. Having never read a single one I picked up a copy and skimmed through the first page. It was like I got enchanted – pun – I just couldn’t but the book down. That week I also bought the second and the third book. And now after finishing the third book I highly regret not buying all of the books as they were significantly cheaper in Dubai then they’re here in The Netherlands.

For those of you who that haven’t read the Harry Potter books: WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? And for all of you that are big fans of the franchise check out all seven back-to-back comparisons of the old Harry Potter covers and the new ones drawn by Jonny Duddle on the The Telegraph.

With Love,

The new covers look good, more contrast and depth. And wow you’ve been reading a lot and fast! Really catching up.

  3. I read them quite late as well, but I think it was a good move, it meant I could read them all in one go! I’m actually just starting a second read through.
