Whenever I have free time I love watching Youtube videos, reading blogs and watching drama’s online. Today I want to share with you all my current obsessions: Youtuber/Blogger Anna Saccone and Korean drama ‘Boys over Flowers’.
Youtuber/Blogger Anna Saccone Joly
Anna Saccone Joly is a 25 year old Irish Italian beauty and fashion blogger/Youtuber. She lives in Cork, Ireland together with her husband Jonathan ‘Jofis’ Saconne Joly, their 1 year old daughter Emilia and their six Maltese puppies. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday she puts a video about either makeup, fashion or her pregnancy (she is currently expecting baby #2) online on Youtube.
On her blog Anna doesn’t seem have a regular posting schedule. One week she can post three articles and the next just one. However ever since I’ve been following her I’ve noticed that she posts at least once every week.
The following is what Anna herself says about her blog.
“My name is Anna and I’m a 25 year old new mama from Ireland. I originally started this blog as a fashion & beauty diary to go hand in hand with my YouTube channel, TheStyleDiet but it has gradually transformed into much more than that. This is more of a lifestyle blog, where I write about a multitude of different things…pregnancy/mommyhood, beauty, fashion, health and even share my personal thoughts & experiences along the way.”
Not only does the fashion guru write blog posts and makes beauty videos on Youtube, she also has a daily vlog channel together with her husband. Every day they put up a roughly 20 minute video about their live. The Irish couple takes you with them when they go to the hospitals for check-ups on baby #2, show you their daughter Emilia’s first steps and pretty much anything else that concerns their daily lives. Just like what I wrote about daily vloggers Benji and Judy from Itsjudylife: it’s like Keeping up with the Kardashians, but then real.
Korean Drama Boys Over Flowers
Now I know that a lot of people are completely addicted to American and British shows like ‘Breaking Bad’, ‘The Tutors’, ‘Downton abbey’, ‘Gossip Girl’ and ‘Game of Thrones’, but there is much more out there then just English language shows. Korean drama’s with English subtitles for example. While for some it might be odd to listing to a foreign language at first, it’s totally worth it. Korean drama’s are full of love, action, sadness and are of great quality. My all time favorite drama is the Boys Over Flowers, featuring famous Korean actors like Lee Min Ho, Ku Hye Sun and Kim Hyun-Joong.
This is what Hulu.com says about the drama; personally I think this is the best synopsis out there.
Boys Over Flowers is one of the biggest Korean drama hits of our time, sweeping ratings and awards across Asia in 2009 and 2010. This Korean take on the popular Japanese manga of the same name, tackles complex issues involving outcasts, socio-economic disparity, family, love, and friendship. Jan Di is an average girl whose family owns a dry cleaning store located near the luxurious and well known Shin Hwa High School. After saving a boy from jumping off the roof of Shin Hwa High School, Jan Di is admitted into the school on a swimming scholarship. At school, Jan Di tries to avoid confrontation with the four richest and most spoiled boys known as the F4, because she knows what happens to those that stand against them. However, when Jan Di’s friend, Oh Min Ji, accidentally gets ice cream on the leader of the F4’s shoes, she’s forced to declare war on the leader of the F4, Goo Joon Pyo. What will happen though, when she falls in love with someone from the F4 and Goo Joon Pyo starts feeling something for her too? Will the love triangle disrupt F4 and change their lives forever? Get ready for addictive drama, romance and comedy at it best.
I have feel that I to add to the above the description that Goo Jun Pyo is the heir to Korea’s biggest multinational and that he doesn’t just ‘starts feeling something for Jan Di’, but falls extremely hard in love with her. Neither their classmates, his mother or the Korean society accepts their love which lead to extremely intense, funny and emotional situations. You can watch Boys over Flowers, depending on in which country you live, on Dramaload, Viki, or one of the many other sites.
