Walking through Target during my internship in the USA I saw a little box, its inside shining bright making it look like a carefully packed little gemstone. But it fact it wasn’t a gem it was the Teal Takeover Marbleized Eye Shadow by Maybeline, which – thanks to it’s amazing texture – l think looks exactly like a gemstone! Now let’s see if this is also the case when applied to your eyelids.
TEXTURE
The Maybelline Marbleized Eye Shadows are baked shadows. This gives you a lot product and causes the eye shadow to last for a very long time. The teal eyeshadow has a very velvety finish, even though it’s a sparkly shadow. The brown one however, is a little drier and harder to apply. The sparkles get everywhere, so applying this shadow before any of your other makeup – and using a good eyeshadow primer – is recommend.
COLOR IN THE SUN
As you can see the teal eye shadow is a lot more vibrant in the sun, while the color of the brown, more sparkly, shadow turns into more of a gold shimmer. This is especially visible when applied on the eyelids.
SWATCHES + FACE
The Mabelline Marbleized Eye Shadow’s are very pigmented. These swatches were made with only one swipe!
The shadows are very easy to blend and have great pigmentation. I love the color combination of the teal and the brown/gold. It really looks like my eyelids transformed into two gemstones, don’t you think?
CONCLUSION
Packaging – gorgeous! I love it when you can clearly see the product.
Amount of product – good.
Texture – the teal color is very velvety, but the more glittery brown color gives quite a bit of fall out.
Application – the teal shadow is easy, the brown requires a eyeshadow primer.
Lasts – all day with a good primer.
Other colors available? – yes, there are nine other shade combinations on the official website. I don’t think this shadow retails in Europe, but you can find 14 (!) colors on Amazon HERE, .
Price vs Product – I bought mine in the USA with 50% off. Usually retails for about €5,00/ $6,99. I think the price you pay for these Maybelline eye shadow color is quite decent.
