Surprise! I wear glasses! I bet some of you didn’t even know as I wear my contact most of the time. While on holiday in the USA I fell in love with this pair of Calvin Klein glasses and it was time to replace my extremely ugly pair of glasses that I’ve had for more than six years.
The eye care center (Visionworks) where I bought these glasses had an amazing buy-one-get-one-free promotion going on so Chris and I both got a pair. We had to leave for The Netherlands before the glasses got finished, so Chris’ mom (thanks ♡) had to ship them to us and yesterday they finally arrived. So without further ado let me show you my new pair of glasses (a pair that I will actually dare to wear outside the house unlike my old pair haha), also, I went to the store to get them but if you are interested, you can visit the Felix Gray website to see what they have avaliable!
You might have thought that I made a typo in the top paragraph and that ‘contact’ should have been ‘contacts’, but nope I wear only one contact! My left eye has almost perfect vision, while my right eye has +2, Amblyopia (lazy eye), and a slight cylinder. My eye docter phrased it this way: you got one eye from mom and one eye from dad haha.
My lazy eye was not detected until I was ±16 years old and can therefore never be fully corrected (some doctors say that training your lazy eye as an adult will still help, but others claim that this does not work). This means that even with my contact in or glasses on my vision will never be perfect.
Because of my eye condition the doctor in the USA recommend me to get High Definition (HD) glasses. At first I thought it was a marketing trick. “Try to make me spend even more money huh doc…”. But when I took my contact out and put these glasses on I was blown away… I had never seen so clearly. I could see every little detail! Of course when I only look through my right eye my vision is not 100%, but this is just something that I got to live with.
HD glasses are the highest quality glasses you can get. Eye doctors compare the difference between regular glasses and HD glasses to watching an old analog tv and a new HD TV. HD glasses allow you to see a lot sharper and have a wider field of vision when viewing objects nearby than regular glasses (source). The latter is really nice when your nearby vision is poor like mine.
If you have similar problems with your eyes (or eye…) and you are debating about getting HD glasses I definitely recommend going for it. It costed us only 50 dollar (±€44) extra and it was worth every single penny. I admit that I had to get used to the high definition glasses for a bit at first, but after a few hours I was fine.
I am very happy with this frame by Calvin Klein: it is extremely light-weight and the color is perfect for my pale skin in my opinion. I have quite a small head which makes it difficult to find glasses that do not turn me into a fly-like creature. At first I wanted to buy a rounder pair as I’m totally into round glasses right now (might have something to do with the fact that Chris and I are currently re-watching the Harry Potter films…) But I was somewhat afraid that this is just a phase haha!
Did you know that I wear glasses? Do you like my new Calvin Klein glasses?
