In about a week and a half I’ll be flying to Seoul, South Korea where I’ll be staying for a little less then four months. To be honest the thought of going is scaring me so much right now. I love to travel, but at the same time I love being home. This might sound really weird and come very unexpected, seeing all the traveling I do, but I actually have a very bad case of homesickness (especially when I have no one I feel 100% comfortable with around me). One thing I learned though, is to never let my homesickness take over and stay home, because in the end you know you will regret it. This week I prepared a lot of things for my upcoming departure…
I woke up in the middle of the night to pick out my courses and exchanged some euros for won. The most important thing, in regards to preparation for Seoul, was picking up my student Visa with my healthy 88 year old grandpa. I’m very blessed to still have him with me at his age. He follows a lot of courses and at one of them the participants where asked what they’d done the past two weeks. He totally started bragging about how he had been to South Korea (and only later admitted that it was only the embassy haha)!
Update 22-02-2012: I received the owl passport cover but it turns out that it doesn’t fit around my passport 🙁 I thought that American and European passports had the same dimensions but the American ones are slightly slimmer… No pretty passport for me when I fly to Seoul.
